Education and Crowd-Sourcing Ideas

The idea of crowd-sourcing public transit ideas is excellent for all the reasons crowd-sourcing is good (detailed local knowledge, fresh thinking, community connection, etc.) but, public transport is a complicated problem with many tradeoffs. Use Instagram

LA Metro does a pretty good job at using Instagram (photo blogging) to engage riders, including contests that enable riders to win prizes. They also repost images of transit infrastructure in LA and elsewhere, encouraging riders to take photos of transit.
